The Jefferson County Delinquency Prevention Council ("Council") consists of community leaders who meet monthly to discuss issues and develop programs for addressing and preventing juvenile delinquency.

The Council was formed in October 1996. Today, the Council includes representatives from law enforcement, the judiciary, the district attorney's and public defender's offices, the County Administrator, the County Board of Supervisors, the Department of Human Services, the Health Department, schools, the faith community, the media, private industry, the University of Wisconsin-Extension, the University of Wisconsin-Whitewater, the United Way, and the community at large. In addition to the occupational diversity of the Board, its membership represents a cross section of the age, ethnic and gender make up of Jefferson County. The municipalities of Cambridge, Fort Atkinson, Jefferson, Johnson Creek, Lake Mills, Sullivan, Watertown, and Whitewater are represented.
