    MINUTES:
    I. Started at 8:40a.m.-Welcome and Introductions!
    II. Finalize Year End Business-
    A. Needs Assessment
    a. DPC work was deemed sufficient, including presenters, location, and dates of meetings.
    b. Common themes that DPC members would like more information on:
    i. More awareness of the need for foster care providers/group homes for adolescents (delinquent and mental heath)
    ii. Maybe have one DPC member briefly share (5 minutes) about his/her organization and what they do for youth
    iii. Best Practice/Successful programs
    iv. Education for law enforcement (i.e. mental health issues and engaging on WRAP Around Teams)
    c. Topics of interest for 2009
    i. Juvenile Drug Treatment Court
    ii. School Based Teen Court
    iii. Domestic Abuse- CCRT (Community Coordinated Response Team)
    iv. Alcohol, Tobacco, and Other Drugs
    v. Youth Employment Training/ Issues
    d. Attendance
    i. Discussion about represented stakeholders attending/missing meetings
    e. DPC members would like to see more involvement from the following stakeholders:
    i. Business community
    ii. YOUTH
    iii. Parents
    f. Discussion regarding youth involvement
    i. Possibly inviting alternative school students or mainstream students chosen by guidance counselors
    ii. Members brought up concerns about consistency if a different youth was brought to each meeting
    iii. In the past, students have attend the meetings but stop coming due to feeling unconnected
    iv. An idea was presented for a youth to serve on the exec board and run some of the meetings
    g. Stakeholder outreach
    i. Please continue efforts to bring the needed stakeholders around the table
    B. Bylaw Revisions
    a. Has been sent out for final review
    b. School Age and Intervention Committees will remain separate groups, but will work together on projects
    c. Possibility of adding a youth to the exec committee
    d. Bylaw revisions were approved
    C. Annual Report
    a. Report was completed and sent out
    b. Restorative Justice Program
    i. Teen Court: 19 successful closures, new Watertown site
    ii. Service to Community: 110 referrals, completed 959.5 hours at 15 regularly scheduled sites
    iii. Restitution: Collected $13,905.11 in 2008
    iv. Victim Offender Conferencing: 3 conferences held
    v. Educational Programs:
    1. First Offender Program: 19 referrals
    2. ATODA: 18 referrals
    3. Anger Management: 16 referrals
    4. Employability Skills Training: 14 referrals
    vi. Fort Atkinson Probation Program: 6 referrals, 75% success rate
    c. Youth Development Activities
    i. Mentoring Program: Waiting list has been established
    ii. DFC: 4th year funding

    1. Grant obtained, 349 students participated, results indicated that the program was successful in decreasing the BMI in over 1/4th of the children
