    • Meeting was called to order at 8:40 AM by Monica Wagner and facilitated by her in place of Peter Tempelis.
    • Minutes from June 2008 meeting were approved.
    • Lynn Dusold, MSW, LCSW from Pathways Counseling Center gave a presentation regarding Sexual Offender Evaluations. Lynn presented the various types of assessments and other factors that help to determine the level of risk that a juvenile presents to reoffend. She distributed materials from a Power Point Presentation and loosely discussed information contained within it. A copy of the Power Point is available upon request from Monica Wagner. Here are some of the highlights shared:
    1. Assessments focus on understanding the overall system within which the child and adolescent live, learn and function.
    2. The assessment methods utilized fully depend on the individual being assessed and their situation. There is no one ideal risk assessment method.
    3. Actuarial and Clinical Assessments are utilized based on what information is available.
    4. Goals of Assessments: to provide information to the court, to make recommendations for placements, to begin to adjust youth and family to possible treatment, and to initiate re-entry of juvenile into the community.
    • Suicide Prevention Community Survey was handed out to those in attendance.
    • DPC’s Strategic Planning will be completed at the next meeting.
    • Meeting was adjourned at 9:45 AM.
These minutes were taken by JCHSD Intern Anna Hirschfeld.
